Chinese automaker Zeekr has selected Continental‘s PremiumContact 6 as original equipment (OE) for its Zeekr 001 electric sedan. The tires will fit 22-inch wheels.
Designed to deliver precise steering and quick response, Continental said the tire ensures power transfers effectively to the road. Its tread design and silica compound maintain grip in both wet and dry conditions, the manufacturer added.
A major benefit of the tires for the Zeekr 001 electric sedan is low rolling resistance, which contributes to extending the EV’s battery range. The tire also offers short braking distances and responsive handling on wet surfaces.
The Zeekr 001 joins a growing list of EVs equipped with Continental tires. In the Asia-Pacific region, nine of the 10 top-selling electric vehicle manufacturers rely on Continental for OE fittings.
