DHL eCommerce Americas will have a new leader starting tomorrow, as the unit of German parcel giant DHL has announced that Scott Ashbaugh, currently the unit’s chief commercial officer (CCO), will assume the role of Americas CEO.
Ashbaugh will take the reins following the retirement of Lee Spratt, who will step down on December 31 after more than 20 years of work at the company.
In his new role, Ashbaugh will be based at DHL eCommerce Americas’ headquarters in Weston, Florida, reporting directly to Pablo Ciano, CEO of DHL eCommerce, and will serve on the eCommerce Global Management Board.
According to the company, Ashbaugh’s knowledge of the inner workings of DHL’s delivery systems has been instrumental in driving the company’s commercial success in the competitive e-commerce landscape. Before serving as CCO, he spent over a decade overseeing operations across both the domestic and international networks, and has logged more than 16 years in total at DHL.
DHL e-commerce describes its core business as domestic parcel transport in selected countries in Europe, in the United States, in certain countries in Asia, in particular in India, and deferred cross-border services to, from and within Europe, as well as to and from the U.S. The deferred domestic parcel delivery service is provided via both DHL’s own and its partner networks, serving a mix of B2C and B2B customers across all sectors. The unit experienced strong cross-border B2C revenue growth in 2024, and expects further acceleration by gradually enabling additional countries within Intra-Europe and Cross-Atlantic services, the firm said.
Ashbaugh’s accession to CEO comes just 10 days after its sister division, DHL Supply Chain North America, also picked a new CEO, naming its own chief financial officer & chief strategy officer, Mark Kunar.
