Marine Cargo Safety Group NMSA Names Winter President

Must read

The marine cargo handling safety group National Maritime Safety Association (NMSA) today announced new leadership, saying that seaport industry group executive Jason Winter of the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) will succeed recent president Dave Morgan of Cooper/Ports America.

The change comes after Morgan served as NMSA president for three years, during which the organization has seen marked growth in membership and participation, the group said.

Winter—whose title at USMX is Director, Safety/Training, CFS & Labor Relations—officially assumed the role during NMSA’s annual meeting. “I’m grateful for the trust of the NMSA membership and for Dave’s dedicated leadership,” Winter said in a release. “As we look ahead, I’m committed to continuing our collaboration across the maritime sector to keep safety at the forefront of everything we do.”

The NMSA says it represents the interests of the marine cargo handling industry and works to promote a culture of safety, regulatory engagement, and information sharing among its members and partners.
