Distrilog takes over transport Michiels

Must read

Distrilog is considerably expanding its portfolio by taking over transport Michiels. This family business specializes in exceptional transport, a niche where Distrilog was not yet active.

Transport Michiels was founded in 1982 and grew considerably in recent years by taking over other companies such as GV Trans in 2009, Dirickx Schoonjans in 2012 and Groover International / Van Grootel Trucking in 2017. The company with headquarters in Hulshout does Conventional Transport but is mainly specialized in special transport with crane trucks. Transport Michiels employs around 170 people and has a fleet of more than 170 pulling vehicles and 500 trailers.

“This acquisition creates an organization with a broader range of services, more innovative power and a stronger competitive position. Both companies share a future -oriented vision in which Pro activity, customer focus and sustainability are central,” says Philip Salaerts, CEO of Distrilog. “We are very enthusiastic about the possible synergies that can arise from the collaboration with Transport Michiels and look forward to building a sustainable future together.”

“The preservation of talent and expertise is central to the integration process. For the employees of Transport Michiels, nothing changes in the short term. They bring valuable knowledge and experience. We are convinced that they will play an important role in the joint future,” says Salaerts. Customers can also count on a seamless transition. However, the name Transport Michiels will disappear from the streets.
