The management of Bpost and the unions have reached an agreement on the implementation of the transformation plan for the distribution of parcels and letters. After several days of intense consultations, including bilateral talks between CEO Chris Peeters and union officials, a compromise was found that takes into account both the impact on employees and the operational and financial reality of the company.
The transformation plan remains in place and will be rolled out gradually. Bpost recognizes the consequences for the work rhythm and private lives of postal workers and their support. The negotiations also paid attention to compensation for the employees involved, despite the challenging financial context.
The agreement includes the majority of shifts ending around 5 p.m., the retention of title and a guarantee of a five-day working week with a fixed schedule. In addition, an internal pool is being set up to limit the use of subcontracting. Consensus was also reached on an increase in meal vouchers by 2 euros in the context of the collective labor agreement.
The final negotiations on the further elaboration of the plan and the associated collective labor agreement are still ongoing and must be completed by April 30, 2026.
The recent strikes have had a serious impact on the company, customers and confidence in services. With this agreement, Bpost wants to once again lay the foundation for stable operations and look ahead to recovery.
