FEBETRA and TRANSPORTMEDIA join forces

Must read

During the Transport & Logistics Awards 2026, organized by TRANSPORTMEDIA, the Herent-based media company and FEBETRA (Federation of Belgian Transporters) announced a strategic partnership: FEBETRA will take a significant stake in the capital of TRANSPORTMEDIA, with which both entities aim to increase their impact on the transport and logistics sector in Belgium.

TRANSPORTMEDIA is a cross-media company that has been active in the transport, logistics and construction sector since 2003. It publishes various trade magazines, organizes events for the light commercial vehicle, transport and logistics communities, produces television programs about these sectors on Trends Z, but is also active with its online news site and on social media.

FEBETRA is the most representative federation for the transport sector in Belgium, with members in the three Belgian regions that are active in both transport and logistics. She makes representing the interests of the sector her absolute priority and represents Belgium at the IRU world federation. Truck Driver Day, on which truck drivers are put in the spotlight at the beginning of December, is mainly thanks to FEBETRA.

FEBETRA has taken a financial stake in TRANSPORTMEDIA for a very specific reason, as chairman Benny Smets explains: “We took the initiative for this collaboration. TRANSPORTMEDIA is known for its dynamism and professionalism and we are in the process of reinventing ourselves and have drawn up a strategic plan with the aim of profiling ourselves as the reference for the transport sector. This collaboration with TRANSPORTMEDIA allows us to be even closer to Belgian carriers, regardless of their size and the region where they are located.”

For TRANSPORTMEDIA, this collaboration confirms the quality of the work done over the past 23 years. “With FEBETRA we complement each other very well. It is also an ideal way to ensure the continuity of the company that I founded in 2003, and I am sure that we will create interesting synergies for both parties, especially in the field of communication, while we further increase our efforts to improve the image of road transport in Belgium,” explains Christophe Duckers (Managing Director of TRANSPORTMEDIA).

Both entities will continue their activities autonomously. “The independence of the editorial staff remains a fundamental pillar of TRANSPORTMEDIA and it is impossible for us to influence their editorial line,” Benny Smets further clarifies.
