Heylen Warehouses has been selected by SORESIC for the redevelopment of part of the former Caterpillar site in Gosselies. This concerns a site of 37.6 hectares that should develop into a modern and sustainable business park. The company SORESIC is owned by Igretec (51%) and Wallonie Entreprendre (49%).

Heylen Warehouses, part of the Heylen Group, will be responsible for the development of zones 1 and 2 of the site. The company has international experience in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain and Portugal. The project combines logistics and semi-industrial activities with the development of a business zone for SMEs.

“We have been actively working on plans for the reconversion of this site since 2022,” says Wim Heylen, founder of Heylen Group. “Our ambition is to transform the former Caterpillar site into a modern and innovative business park that creates a dynamic ecosystem and strengthens the local economy.”

Heylen Warehouses will develop Parc Chrysalide21 on the site, a logistics and semi-industrial hub with space for SME activities. Thanks to its strategic location on the Walloon axis, the site offers good accessibility and potential for activities that combine international flows of goods, production and innovation, according to the initiators.

The aim is to create 1,000 to 1,500 direct and indirect jobs.
