A new commercial manager for Liege Airport

Must read

Torsten Wefers will leave Liege Airport in mid-March 2026 and will be replaced by Frédéric Brun as interim vice-president of sales and marketing. Frédéric Brun has been working at Liege Airport since 2022 and held the position of Head of Cargo Sales.

This change comes at a paradoxical moment: on the one hand, the figures for the first two months are excellent (+18.6% compared to the same period in 2025 and a strong increase in exports, especially to China and the United States), but on the other hand, the geopolitical situation is very unstable due to the recent events in the Middle East. “Diversification is therefore crucial,” says CEO Laurent Jossart. “In addition to the e-commerce sector, where we are the market leader, the transport of flowers is also growing strongly and the pharmaceutical sector is the second fastest growing sector. Our specific vertical market approach therefore proves its relevance. The airport is also becoming increasingly mature in terms of digitalization, and the level of quality that our customers demand is driving progress in the entire ecosystem. This year will be another tumultuous year for air freight, but we remain cautiously optimistic for 2026.”
