Many tyre makers claim to utilise motorsport experience when designing new tyre models, but at Bridgestone this developmental path is a two-way street – the tyre maker is introducing Enliten, first seen in decidedly unsporty fuel efficiency focused applications, into its 2026 IndyCar race tyres. The Firestone Firehawk tyres for both the IndyCar Series and Indy NXT will feature the technology, beginning at this weekend’s Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
