The recent inauguration of the Autogreen tyre plant in Svay Rieng has further bolstered Cambodia’s growing position as a location for making tyres. In January, the month of the facility’s official commissioning, exports from tyre manufacturing facilities in Cambodia surged 71 per cent year-on-year. Figures from the country’s Ministry of Commerce show that tyre exports exceeded US$159 million during the month.
