ToyChamp wants to close DC Dreamland in Beersel

Must read

Toy chain Dreamland wants to centralize its logistics activities in Bilzen-Hoeselt, where main shareholder ToyChamp purchased a 40,000 m² warehouse last year (photo). The intention is to close the logistics branch in the Flemish Brabant Lot (Beersel). The management announced this intention on Tuesday at a special works council at the Lot branch.

The Genk toy chain ToyChamp bought a logistics building in Bilzen last year. At that time, the company already announced that it wanted to centralize the group’s logistics and administrative activities there. Since October 2023, ToyChamp has also been the 75% owner of toy chain Dreamland, the remaining shares are still held by Colruyt. Dreamland has its own distribution center in Lot, a sub-municipality of Beersel in Flemish Brabant. A total of almost a hundred people work there. “It is an intention to close, not a decision,” says Koen Nolmans, CEO of ToyChamp and Nolmans Retail Support, in Het Belang van Limburg. “We are now in consultation with the unions about this.”
