A difficult year 2025 for Paccar in the US

Must read

With a turnover decline of 15% and a profit decline of 42.8%, one cannot say that 2025 was an exceptional year for the American group Paccar. However, that did not stop CEO Preston Feight from being very satisfied with these results.

However, this is the second year in a row that Paccar sales have fallen. Compared to the record year 2023, turnover has fallen by more than 19%. This is due to a very weak North American market (-15% and a deterioration that intensified towards the end of the year) and a European market that was not dynamic enough. The result: production fell from 204,200 vehicles to 144,200 (-29.4%) in two years. Fortunately for Paccar, the Paccar Parts and Paccar Finance divisions continued to grow, both in terms of turnover and profitability. Nevertheless, Paccar achieved a net profitability of 8.4%.

For 2026, the outlook is not too pessimistic: in North America, where 233,000 trucks were registered in 2025, a range of 230,000 to 270,000 vehicles is expected thanks to a clarification of pricing policy and EPA emissions regulations. In Europe, DAF Trucks’ forecasts are more cautious: between 280,000 and 320,000 vehicles in 2026, compared to 298,000 registered units in 2025. The South American market, Paccar’s third most important commercial pool, is likely to decline slightly in 2026.
