Must read

Rail freight company Lineas entered into silent judicial reorganization proceedings about fifteen days ago. Published that L’Echo and The Time and was confirmed by the group on Monday. It should give the company the necessary breathing space to reach an agreement with creditors.

Lineas, which employs more than 1,500 people and plays a key role in the ports of Antwerp and Zeebrugge, has been struggling with losses for several years. In the short term, it must repay or refinance loans worth 46.25 million euros. The most important creditors include banks and the Flemish and Walloon governments.

According to Lineas, there are now first signs of recovery. The company expects a clear improvement in financial results in 2026 and aims to achieve financial equilibrium a year later. It also refers to a changing European competitive framework, which, according to Lineas, has already led to regained market share in France and possibly also in Germany.
