Tyre strategy played a decisive role in a thrilling Qatar Grand Prix, where Max Verstappen claimed his seventh win of the season and set up a three-way title showdown in Abu Dhabi. All three tyre compounds featured during the race, but the key moment came on lap seven with the arrival of a safety car – the fourth in four Qatar races. Most drivers, starting on mediums, opted to pit under the safety car, gaining around 10 seconds compared to green-flag stops. Verstappen, who had climbed to second from third on the grid, was first to take advantage, securing a strategic edge.
