The most important sea and inland ports of Belgium have launched the Port 2 Port Security platform in collaboration with the National Drugs Commissioner. The aim of this platform is to intensify cooperation and develop common security measures against the increase in drug trafficking, cyber attacks or the illegal use of drones.
It is an initiative of Port of Antwerp-Bruges, North Sea Port and the ports of Liège, Brussels and Ostend, with the support of the Coordination and Support Directorate (CSD) Limburg, the National Drug Commission and De Vlaamse Waterweg. The new platform enables stakeholders to share their knowledge about inspections, access control, security checks, drones and AI camera surveillance, among others. It complements existing national and local ISPS authorities and enables transversal cooperation between ports.
