At the recent NTDA Tyre Industry Conference 2025, Trevor Adams, managing director of T&C Site Services, spoke about his company’s recent experiences servicing the OTR tyre segment. T&C Site Services offers OTR fleet tyre management to a variety of OTR sectors, such as construction and mining, through to recycling and the waste processing segment. The segment is vital in keeping the country’s infrastructure moving. Beginning with the famous opening sentence of Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities – “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness…”, Adams explained the contradictory nature of the business in which recent technological advancements have offered substantial improvements, but paradoxically it is currently difficult to deliver these benefits. This is the result of moving from a reactive form of OTR fleet servicing – largely the result of breakdowns – to the more efficient proactive tyre husbandry digitalisation and sensor technology has unlocked.
