Must read

The Belgian transport and logistics player Xwift is moving its activities from Temse to Evergem. The company has signed a lease for two warehouses with a total area of 22,000 m² at Ghent Logistic Campus 21, developed by Heylen Warehouses. This will be Xwift’s largest site to date.

Xwift, founded in 2007 by Pieter Denys, has grown in recent years into an important player in the sector with more than a thousand employees and an annual turnover of 135 million euros. Since 2021, the company accelerated its expansion through a successful buy-and-build strategy, in which acquisitions and organic growth go hand in hand.

At the site in Evergem, Xwift will become a neighbor of BMS, which is expanding its activities within the campus by 11,000 m² to support further automation. According to David Batens, Asset Manager at Heylen Warehouses, the arrival of Xwift underlines the attractiveness and flexibility of the logistics ecosystem in North Sea Port.

With this expansion, Ghent Logistic Campus 21 confirms its position as an important logistics hub for national and international players who focus on innovation in transport and logistics.
