In the USA, General Motors has issued a recall of 22,914 2025-2026 model year Chevrolet Equinox EVs and Cadillac Optiqs because “affected tyres could experience partial or full tread detachment” because they were produced with “a noncomforming tread base rubber compound”. The tyres in question are 275/40 R21 Continental CrossContact RX tyres bearing the 4024 production code, which means they were produced in the 40th week of 2024 – that is, 6-12 October 2024, according to NHTSA filings.
