Remote job opportunities in logistics are on the rise

Must read

Remote job opportunities in warehousing and logistics have doubled since 2022—and jumped by 25% from Q4 2024 to Q1 2025, according to a recent survey from resume-building platform Resume Now and frontline workforce hiring company Talroo. The companies released the results in their Frontline Remote Work Trends 2025 Report.

The data reveal an increase in the number of work-from-home opportunities among frontline workers in all industries, with remote-eligible roles up 9% year-over-year overall. In addition to warehousing and logistics, healthcare and retail are among the top frontline industries for remote jobs: Healthcare saw a 70% increase year-over-year, adding 200,000 jobs, and remote jobs in retail grew 9% year-over-year—and were up 75% from 2022. Remote opportunities for sales positions grew as well, rising 15% year-over-year, according to the survey results.

Resume Now and Talroo credit the growth to advances in digital tools, automation, and upskilling across all industries.

“As digital tools become more integrated into frontline work, they are also expanding remote opportunities in industries that once relied solely on in-person roles,” Thad Price, Talroo’s CEO, said in a press release announcing the results. “Companies that invest in digital upskilling will not only boost productivity and employee satisfaction but also open new doors for remote and hybrid work in frontline sectors.”

Top remote roles in warehousing and logistics include freight broker, customs operations, and sales executive positions. The digital advancements driving that growth include:

  • Supply chain management software: Freight brokers and logistics coordinators use cloud-based systems to manage shipments remotely.
  • AI-powered demand forecasting: Predictive analytics tools allow remote workers to optimize inventory and shipping routes.
  • Automated communication platforms: Digital tools enable remote teams to coordinate operations across locations.

The report also found that tech-savvy candidates are in the best position to take advantage of the growth in remote frontline jobs.

“As digital tools continue to redefine essential industries, workers with strong digital literacy skills are better positioned to seize remote opportunities,” Keith Spencer, career expert at Resume Now, also said in the release. “Investing in digital upskilling will not only help businesses fill critical roles but also empower employees to thrive in the evolving job market.”
