National diesel average declines, for the week of October 13, reports EIA

The national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline decreased for the second week in a row, following increases over the previous two weeks, according to data issued this week by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The national average price per gallon, for the week of October 13, fell 4.6 cents, to $3.665, following a 4.3-cent decrease, to $3.711, for the week of October 6. Which was preceded by a $0.005-cent increase, to $3.754, for the week of September 29, and a $0.01-cent increase, to $3.749, for the week of September 22.

Which was preceded by a 2.7-cent decline, to $3.739, for the week of September 15, a 3.2-cent increase, to $3.7666, for the week of September 8, and a 2.6-cent increase, to $3.734, for the week of September 1, and hitting its highest weekly average since the week of July 28, at $3.805.

On an annual basis, the national average increased 3.4 cents, below the 12.7-cent increase seen last week. WTI crude is currently trading at $59.96 on the New York Mercantile Exchange, down from $61.49 a week ago at this time.
