Hunter Engineering has introduced two new heavy-duty pit racks, designed to handle a wide range of trucks, including longer and very heavy vehicles. The new P492HD and P493HD models offer improved accessibility, high load capacity, and rugged construction to help technicians get vehicles on and off the rack faster, Hunter said.
The Hunter heavy-duty pit racks lineup begins with the P492HD, featuring a compact yet powerful design. This model includes galvanized runways measuring 226 inches long and 30 inches wide, with a 60,000-lb. runway capacity. The rack comes standard with built-in PowerSlide slipplates. Optional PowerSlide turnplates can be added for more versatility during alignment procedures.
The P493HD provides an even greater runway length of 360 inches while maintaining the same 30-inch width and 60,000-lb. capacity, Hunter said. Like the P492HD, it includes standard PowerSlide slipplates and optional PowerSlide turnplates.
Both configurations are compatible with Hunter’s current HD jack and the new HD scissor jack. Each offers a 22,000-lb. capacity and 63-inch reach.
For added accessibility, Hunter said shops can equip either model with an optional T-pit extension kit. Modular pit rails in 10-foot sections can extend the pit beyond the runways. There’s no limit to the number of sections, ensuring full access to the rear underside of even the largest vehicles.
