Snel Logistic Solutions has received the keys to three of the four electric tractors it ordered from Ghistelinck. The company from Deinze was convinced by the qualities of the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600.
Snel Logistic Solutions purchased the very first DAF CF Electric that was delivered in Belgium in 2021. It concerned a truck with a range of 200 kilometers that was deployed in two shifts for a customer in large distribution. The progress in the field of propulsion becomes clear when we listen to Susanne Snel (Business Process Manager): “We will mainly use these electric trucks for existing customers and they will be used for regular traffic between factories and warehouses, but we also want to test them for occasional traffic. The 500 kilometer range of the eActros 600 is a big plus in this respect, because we can then have a day shift and a night shift.”
Regarding the charging of these vehicles, Snel Logistic Solutions will gradually equip its three branches, as Susanne Snel explains: “As with our first DAF, we will start at the depot in Ham, where we have installed the necessary chargers. Our two other branches in Deinze and Weert are currently equipped with temporary solutions. In Deinze it is only a matter of time before we have a permanent solution.”
