Bridgestone Debuts DOT-Approved VHS3 Crane Tire

Must read

Bridgestone Americas introduced the Bridgestone V-Steel Highway Service 3 (VHS3) tire for mobile and all-terrain cranes. The manufacturer said the high-speed radial provides stability and control when lifting heavy loads and moving between on- and off-road environments.

“Mobile and all-terrain cranes arguably tackle some of the most demanding and high-stakes work of any of the off-the-road machines,” said Rob Seibert, president, off-the-road, Bridgestone Americas. “Crane operators lift and transport heavy materials across job sites and travel at high speeds on different terrains. The new Bridgestone VHS3 tire is designed to give crane operators the confidence needed to move more, faster.”

The VHS3 is approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation and will replace the VHS2 in Bridgestone’s portfolio, the company said.

According to Bridgestone, the tire offers:

  • 12% more tire life: Bridgestone designed the advanced rubber compound and sidewall construction to reduce heat buildup, minimize irregular wear, and extend tire life by 12%.
  • Increased grip: The new tread with wide grooves and long lugs improves grip, stability, and wear on all terrains.
  • Lighter casing design: Bridgestone redesigned the casing with lighter belt, bead, and shoulder parts. This change reduces fuel use while keeping load capacity.

The Bridgestone VHS3 is available now in size 445/95R25 174F.

Engineers designed the tire for mobile and all-terrain cranes. Bridgestone’s off-the-road portfolio also includes products for container handlers, reach stackers, straddle carriers and articulated trucks.
