Nokian Tyres has appointed Dave Johnston as portfolio, pricing and business planning director for North America. His tenure began Sept. 29.
Johnston will guide Nokian Tyres’ product strategy across the region. He will serve as a liaison between customers and the company’s global product development process, Nokian said. His department will also oversee warranty claims and educate customers and consumers about Nokian Tyres’ winter, all-season, and all-weather products.
Johnston has 25 years of experience in sales and product leadership roles across the United States and Canada. Most recently, he worked as national director of major accounts at Mighty Auto Parts in the Atlanta area.
“Dave’s deep experience and strong relationships in the tire industry will be an asset as we enhance our product strategy to meet our customers’ needs,” said Senior Vice President of North America Chris Ostrander. “His expertise provides Nokian Tyres’ North American business and its clients a unique asset that will help accelerate our growth efforts in the United States and Canada.”

Nokian Tyres said the Dave Johnston appointment signals the company’s continued investment in strengthening its North American leadership team.
In recent years, Nokian Tyres has launched several products designed specifically for North America. These include the all-season Nokian Tyres One, the all-terrain Outpost Family, and the all-weather Remedy WRG5. All latest-generation North American products feature puncture-resistant Aramid fibers and come with a Pothole Protection warranty.
