Continental has received original equipment (OE) approval from General Motors for two new electric SUVs: the Cadillac OPTIQ and Chevrolet Equinox EV. Both models will leave the factory equipped with Continental CrossContact RX all-weather touring tires in 20 and 21-in. sizes.
Continental said engineers designed the CrossContact series to provide braking and effective handling on dry, wet, and snowy roads. The optimized tread pattern and contour lower rolling resistance while maintaining strong traction across multiple conditions, it said.
According to Continental, the uniform sipe arrangement reduces rolling noise, giving drivers a quieter and more comfortable ride. ContiSeal technology seals punctures of up to 6 mm in diameter, allowing drivers to continue their journey without immediate tire replacement.
The following Continental CrossContact RX tires fit the Cadillac OPTIQ and Chevrolet Equinox EV:
- CrossContact RX, 275/40 R21 107H XL FR ContiSeal;
- CrossContact RX, 245/50 R20 105H XL FR ContiSeal.
