Must read

Transport Goossens BV from Heist-op-den-Berg has been taken over by Commodity Center Belgium, the Belgian branch of a large English group specialized in, among other things, the storage, handling and distribution of mainly soft commodities such as coffee and cocoa. Extends Commodity Center Belgium the container activities further out.

Transport Goossens was founded in 1990. This family business focuses on container transport with both conventional sea containers and reefers in mainly the Benelux, France and Germany. It was successfully led by Michel Goossens and his wife Suzanne Kog and today has a fleet of 11 tractors and 14 container chassis.

“With their personal, customer -oriented approach and a close -knit team, Transport Goossens perfectly connects with Commodity Center Belgium,” said Tamara Tanghe and Wim Jacobs, who have had Commodity Center Belgium since the start of a reputed logistics service provider in the port of Antwerp. “The acquisition of Transport Goossens is part of our strategy to further develop our position through acquisitions through acquisitions with, among other things, through-to-through transport solutions for our customers.” This happened in 2022 with the takeover of Waagnation.

Transport Goossens thus gets a new chapter within a strong international logistics player. “KLanten can continue to enjoy the familiar service and all employees and the entire fleet are housed in our family, “says Tamara Tanghe and Wim Jacobs.

The acquisition was created through the mediation of consultancy firm De Putter & Co, expert in M&A within Transport & Logistics.
