After the super of 13 liters that came on the market in 2022, Scania continues the renewal of his engine range with a new super 11 engine that is available in three power versions (350, 390 or 430 hp). For certain applications, this engine forms a lighter and more economical alternative to the Super 13.
From a technical point of view, the Super 11 engine (compatible with the two alternative fuels HVO and Fame) is equipped with different innovations, starting with a technology that makes variable valve timing possible and improves combustion performance. New balance shafts also reduce the vibrations. The motor brake develops up to 344 kW brake power thanks to the variable valve brake system (VVB) of Scania.
The new Super 11 engine is between the 9-liter DC09 and the Super 13. According to Scania, it offers 7% more fuel efficiency than the DC09 and weighs 85 kg less than the Super 13. This engine is therefore cut for regional transport, where the load capacity is a crucial factor. It is available in three power versions: 350 hp (1800 Nm), 390 hp (2000 Nm) and 430 hp (2200 Nm).
Another advantage of this new engine is that it consists of 85% the same parts as the Super 13 engine. According to Scania, he also has the advantage that the maintenance intervals have been extended by 30% compared to the DC09, provided that LDF-5 engine oil is used.
