In the USA, The National Highway Transport Safety Administration reports that Centropneus SRL (Centropneus) is recalling 640 Michelin CrossClimate 2 tyres for a minor sidewall marking non-compliance issue.
The affected 255/60R18 112V XL tyres don’t have the required DOT certification symbol. As such, “these tyres fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 139,” NHTDA wrote in an official filing, adding: “tyres that are missing a DOT symbol may be used in inappropriate applications, increasing the risk of a crash”.
